A 2,300 SF raw area just below an existing 4,500 SF apartment was added to create a space for entertainment. A new staircase was designed to connect both levels introducing new and existing materials to make it look seamlessly integrated. This new addition holds a state of the art home theater, an open room for the kids to relax, guest department, basketball court, pool table and a small kitchen. Materials are limited, reclaimed wood, concrete, glass... lines are pure, no jambs at full height doors, trimless lighting fixtures and diffusers. The downstairs became the real heart of the house for guests and family to withdraw from the daily concerns and relax in the home cinema, play pool or just hang out.
